The 7th China Cultural Industry Forum, initiated by the Institute for Cultural Industries of Peking University, was held recently to discuss how traditional Chinese culture could be transformed into various cultural products and resources.

The forum also discussed the online gaming industry and post-Olympic sports center management.

Cheng Siwei, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said at the forum that he expected a boom in cultural industries over the next 10 years, and said this was essential to boosting the country's soft power.
