Forum on International Cultural Industries, China (FICI) is held by Peking University and managed by Institute for Cultural Industries, Peking University (Cultural Industry Innovation and Development Academe) under the guide and support of Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, and the State Administration of Radio Film and Television. Since its founding in 2003, the Forum, aimed at promoting the communication between the government, the enterprise and the academy in the industrial field, has been pursuing its development concept of “a blend of learning and reality, an innovation in strategy and development” and has been reinforcing the interaction among the significant policy, advanced theory and the industrial practice.

Culture plays a great role to the society and it works even at the subtle section, the next decade is an important strategic opportunity for China to build a powerful country with culture industries. The year of 2013 not only witnesses the rapid development of Chinese cultural industries, but also the turning point of its progress. Enhancing and innovating cultural management is a challenge of the utmost urgency under the new circumstances for china a heightened public cultural self-consciousness will in turn motivate public to participate in the construction of cultural society.

The 11th International Forum On Cultural Industries (FICI) is scheduled to be held during January 11th to 12th in 2014 with theme “The Power of Culture: Social Design and Public Creativity”, attracting central subject, the forum will discuss the ways to improve the cultural environment, generate cultural consensus, arouse cultural potentiality, enhance cultural innovation, and the continuity of Chinese traditional culture.
